Donald Woods Centre is open – New developments and facilities have been completed and are available for conferences, training workshops and university partnerships. Covid compliant facilities include a lecture theatre, several large training rooms, a library and accommodation for 40 delegates. All safety measures are in place.

DWF achievements – The Donald Woods Foundation has achieved notable milestones making a significant difference to the health of thousands of people. These include reducing by half, admission to hospital for hypertension/stroke through DWF’s primary healthcare intervention and referral at homestead level.

NMU joins hands with DWF – The Donald Woods Foundation (DWF) has partnered with the Nelson Mandela University, laying the groundwork for working towards health challenges faced by thousands of people in a remote rural part of the Eastern Cape.

Elderly residents of Ngqatyana share their health concerns duing a recent mini health imbizo/soup kitchen initiatied by the DWF HiEH programme under their Dementia work. Ngqatyana lies north north west of Hobeni, home of the Donald Woods Centre.

Diabetes and hypertension – South Africa has one of the highest rates of diabetes and hypertension in the world. Rural communities are particularly vulnerable as many people are undiagnosed which means they are not getting the life-saving treatment they need.
