Lilly NCD Partnership Summit – Porto Alegre (Brazil)

Global diabetes leaders, researchers and governments gathered together for the Lilly NCD Partnership Summit in Brazil in late September 2015 to share innovative approaches to diabetes care and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) around the world.

The Foundation made a presentation at the summit highlighting the key aspects of its flagship health programme, Health in Every Hut (HiEH). This programme has improved access to better healthcare for thousands of the poorest and most vulnerable rural residents and has helped improve the quality of primary healthcare in clinics. HiEH screens and refers people for care who might otherwise have slipped through the healthcare cracks and has followed up those clients at risk to ensure they are placed and remain on treatment.
