PARTNERSHIP LAUNCH WITH E CAPE GOVT

Over 1,000 people attended the launch of the partnership between the Donald Woods Foundation and the Eastern Cape Government Departments of Health, Education, Social Development and Sport, Recreation, Arts & Culture at Madwaleni Hospital on 26 October. Speakers included Chief Vuyisile, MEC Kwelitha (standing) and COO Feziwe Macingwane from the Dept of Social Development, Mrs Mvana - Mayor of Mbashe and Dillon Woods - Foundation CEO (seated on the far right).

Present were people from the communities that are partnering with the Donald Woods Foundation, including Hobeni, Guse, Nkanya, Madwaleni and Miller Mission / Soga. Other representatives were also there from surrounding communities including Chief Fudumele from Hobeni, and Revd Jonga and Revd Mcoteli from Miller Mission and Tony Wadsworth, Head of Special Projects in Premier Balindlela's Office.

The event also witnessed much traditional dancing and the signing of the joint Memorandum of Understanding between the respective government departments, the Donald Woods Foundation and the Mbashe Municipality.
