Donald Woods Foundation’s programme manager Rose Ewing recently returned from the Bali Summit where she joined hands with health practitioners, world leaders and Lilly delegates in crafting the world’s first declaration \u2013 the Bali Declaration on the looming world TB-Diabetes co-epidemic.<\/p>\n

One of the key interventions advocated by the grouping was bi-directional screening where patients are screened for both diseases.<\/p>\n

The Bali Declaration declared that the world needs decisive and early action on the co-epidemic with further agreements on accelerating the implementation of the Collaborative Framework for Care and Control of Tuberculosis and Diabetes, produced by the World Health Organization and the\u00a0International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the organiser of the historic Summit.<\/p>\n
